people are always like “what link do i give to?!” one giant pile of money is actually not a great way to help people. people choosing a variety of places to give helps keep the money moving. no one org gets flooded to the point of breaking. a PTA, the mutual aid venmo, can move $ even faster.

Does anyone collect for like eye wash, ppe and trauma kits etc? These medics keep setting up field hospitals and treating people in the streets seemingly at their own risk and expense.

not to mention—having people apply for funds through one centralized place would create a dream database of data for ICE to get their grubby fucking hands on. small is better! neighbor to neighbor. no lists. no unsecured pile of applications.

the centralized rent fund on here is actually a very rapidly moving regranting machine getting all these small networks their own pot of rent money

Need to pick particular ones? A Minneapolis friend sent me the site, along with a suggestion to scroll down to "Organizations Doing Work on the Ground," to find Monarca/UNIDOS, Keystone Community Services, and Neighborhood House. (All are 501(c)(3), if that matters to you.)
