Does anybody else think that when people report numbers such as this it should be annual instead of over the next ten or twenty-five or whatever years. That feels like they are trying to manipulate instead of inform. But yeah, it's a big problem no matter what.

Which is exactly why an anti-vaxxer is now Secretary of Harm to perpetuate uncontrolled pandemics to concentrate more capital for oligarchs. bsky.app/profile/wire...

Measles is a leading cause of childhood blindness and deafness in developing countries where immunization programs for measles aren't well established. We should be preparing our states' special education budgets to deal with an increase of disabled students...

I am talking about children. And so are Republicans who want to give women a token amount of money to bear a child, and then will do everything in their power to kill that child before the age of 5.

They are making maternal health more precarious, convincing people that vaccines are bad, reducing food inspections, killing early childhood education, and killing quality public education? And for whom? THE CHILDREN.

Actually, no, not ALL the children. Their children WILL get vaccinated, they just won’t admit it. Theirs children will get good education. Their kids will consume organic food.

1) Their kids haven't done anything wrong and don't deserve it 2) Kids living in the same city as them haven't done anything wrong 3) Measles resets the immune system so once infected they'll spread everything they encounter and the world doesn't deserve it asm.org/articles/201...

asm.orgMeasles and Immune Amnesia | ASM.orgMeasles is much more serious than a rash and fever: it also causes immune amnesia and leaves patients especially vulnerable to secondary infection.

The MMR vaccine protects against measles, mumps, and rubella. It is recommended for children ,particularly healthcare workers, students, and international travelers. Two doses are usually required for full protection, first dose at 12-15 months, second at 4-6 years. IT'S NEVER TO LATE TO GET IT.

I’d also recommend getting your MMR immunity checked every ten years or so. I had to get another round of boosters because my immunity to one of them was almost nonexistent despite getting the full set as a kid and, I think, in ‘09 in Basic. (I got a LOT of shots in Basic.)

I recently had whooping cough. I am pretty good about getting vaccines, but I let tdap lapse. I retired early from teaching because I was so sick—I’m lucky my lungs did not collapse. With all the anti vaccine nuts, it’s not safe for teachers in yet another way.

I hate anti-vaxxers and the idiots who enable them. "buT wHaT aBoUt mE, I - " Yes, you too. Antivaxxer? I hate you too. More people should. Look what your stupidity has done to EVERYONE else. You can rot in hell with your ivermectin and 20+ year-old (debunked) autism "studies"

They have a fundamental flawed perspective of how vaccines work, because they don't bother to educate themselves with reputable sources (they believe them to be paid for shills of their political enemies). They think if vaccines worked then we wouldnt have to worry.

If US gets measles as an endemic disease, it will become a world reservoir, a danger to other populations. That is beyond stupid. If you want to go that path, the rest of the world will need to defend itself by asking visas and vaccination cards to US citizens.
