The stupid just gets worse. The orders include a wide range of international partners. It includes weather and climate data essential to air transportation safety but also to combat drought, monitor coral reef destruction, and safeguard railway shipping carriers against dangerous weather!

I hope every weather person, on the 6:00 news, says “sorry, we don’t know bc King Musk won’t let anyone see the weather outside of our borders. Just go outside + figure it out yourself.”

I know the MAGAts have trouble realizing there are important things beyond our borders. One of the many important things for which borders are literally meaningless is weather. The weather business is inherently global and collaborative. The EU models are particularly important. This is stupid.

This is why there was a large death toll from the 1900 Galveston Hurricane. The US Weather Bureau was not allowed to coordinate with the Cuban Weather Service, who knew the hurricane was headed into the Gulf. Because of that, the Weather Bureau “lost” the hurricane until it was too late.

Of course, because foreign weather is evil and frightening and shouldn’t be talked about, and lord Jesus forbid they discover our perfect satellite controlled American weather…crap I’ve said too much
