This is Ando. He's been a high-risk explosives detection dog for 6 years, and last week he celebrated his final day on the job. His coworkers threw him a surprise retirement party by showering him with dummies, a special reward that detection dogs are trained to love. 14/10 congratulations Ando

They use that item in their reward games they play with them when they make a find. It's no different than the way dogs come to love balls or frisbees, when the dog sees the dummy he knows he's gong to get to play with his handler for a while.

Kaigetsudō Ando founded the Kaigetsudō school of ukiyo-e art. We just published a close reading: https://bsky.app/profile/open-art.bsky.social/post/3mvoa4udlrz2t

This is a perfectly lovely & appropriate tribute to a dog having done dangerous work being shown appreciation by his handlers. Seriously! Do you feel this same anger at those who showed love to the 9/11 search & rescue dogs? Or is it reserved for those who try not to get you blown up?

The mercenaries enforcing the laws of the oligarchy are the ONLY REASON anyone has concerns about "getting blown up". If these pissweak thugs didn't protect billionaires and corporations from the natural justice they'd face for their despotic cruelty and violence, there'd be no bombs to worry about

I usually only post how much I love the dogs, but after feeling the need to respond to at least two posts with other than “good dog” responses… This is NOT A POLITICAL SITE! It’s called We Rate Dogs! Having vented, way to go Ando, love that waggly tail!

good boy needs a bigger mouth for all his toys “been a high-risk explosives detection dog for 6 years, and last week he celebrated his final day on the job. His coworkers threw him a surprise retirement party by showering him with dummies, a special reward that detection dogs are trained to love”
