Per-precinct final data are now available for King County, Washington's general election. In the race for Seattle mayor, Katie Wilson defeated incumbent Bruce Harrell by just under 2,000 votes.

Folks near Magnuson Park are sick of all the crime, including the frequent huge parties that go all night and are so loud you can hear it miles away over on the eastside. Bruce was at least trying to improve the SPD situation (staffing levels, etc.), and Wilson is clearly in the "defund" camp.

That northern precinct includes some affordable housing near Magnuson Park. Not sure what the demographics are in those Wilson-supporting areas near Seward Park down south; that’s just south of the Lake Washington Blvd stretch that Harrell bent over backwards to support.

Thank you! I’m grateful for all the help I got at Tableau when I was working there from 2014–2021. Started visualizing elections in 2019.

Kudos to a non-Bluesky user who pointed out that Wilson's margin of victory was 2,011, which was just _over_ 2,000 votes. Sorry about the error.

Disclosure: I provided analytical assistance to the Wilson campaign, although I did not donate money to the campaign and I did not actively solicit votes from the public.

In the King County executive race, Girmay Zahilay led on election night and maintained his lead through the final count, winning election by more than 54,000 votes over Claudia Balducci.

In Seattle City Council's district 2, Eddie Lin led Adonis Ducksworth by more than 2:1 on election night, and extended his lead in the final tally.
