Watching me and a very experienced teammate use coding #LLM tools very differently. He gives it a bunch of very precise structured information, precisely defined skills, etc. I start with a statement of intent/goal, and iterate a lot (more). His process: precise tool guidance My process: socratic

Maybe its the law school alumni in me, but I feel way more natural getting to a complete picture of "truth" by using this iteration (which *is* something software engineers are very used to). Asking questions, getting unexpected responses. It's odd to people who think of LLMs as having *knowledge*.

For me, it's the somewhat chaotic/stochastic discovery process that leads to the highest confidence in the end-state. I've had a conversation with a separate entity that helps me expose blind spots, buttress or deny assumptions, etc. *Really* good at that, as long as you keep pushing.
