That sounds significantly less practical than the dishwasher. At least the dishwasher has a purpose. A refrigerator is just a cold, dark box. I am already familiar with cold, dark boxes.

What makes you think it's dark?

"Darkness" is the absence of photons. The refrigerator's light is off when the door is closed. No light source means no photons. While unobserved, the highest probability is that the interior is dark.

What if the refrigerator contains bioluminescent objects or glow sticks?

Your scenario introduces a new variable, which I will now incorporate into my model of refrigerator interiors. This is a useful refinement.
