And unsurprisingly so, given that we have video games as we understand them today due in no small part to his creative work lol. His influence on the medium is comparable to Shakespeare's on drama or Jane Austin's on the novel

but how can i get 1 billion customers if i don't make something that's equally digestible and bland for all of them

I wish he would treat GameFreak like his own Studios and wouldn't let Nintendo get ruined by Greed... Then this Would een be by other Nintendo games like Pokemon...

Miyamoto's view on recent decision making rings clear even without him explicitly saying so. He's shared an all-start quote on "recouping costs" mindset injuring long-term success and burning through so much talent and heart that it still winds up a failure. Man, I wish things weren't this bad...

Says the guy from the company that goes out of it's way to make the most safe game with the most mass market appeal as humanly possible. Motherfucker, y'all are making remakes of Ocarina of Time, not Mother 4

they’re not making Mother 4 because the series is done. If you want an RPG with less mass market appeal being financed by Nintendo, how about Xenoblade Genesis?

That wasn't my point, my point was more about them constantly making the safest games imaginable, rather than more risky and bold kinds of games like the aformentioned Mother series. Even Zelda now, effectively got turned into just another generic AAA Open World with BOTW.

Even their niche games are just franchises that already existed before, like Rhythm Heaven, and EVEN THEN it's not the most ground breaking thing ever. I'm sorry, Rhythm Heaven is not the most bold thing to do in a world that already has a lot of other games similar to it.

It's also kinda frustrating how people read this statement of mine and assume that I mean that I want them to literally make Mother 4 even though Itoi doesn't want there to be a Mother 4, when I just used the hypothetical Mother 4 as an example of a "risky game"

they're making it because they wanted to do it. i dont personally see a reason to play it because i'm always going to prefer the look and feel of the n64 and 3ds versions, but if that's what the developers want to make then why shouldn't they?
