Abortion is a woman's choice. There is also a psychological impact on kids. Think: what's it like to grow up with a single mom knowing that she *chose* to have you versus knowing that she *had* to have you? Not just single moms. If abortion's legal, EVERY kid knows they were chosen, not mandated.

Dems believe that’s it, it’s over, they no longer have to vote. That’s what Dems always do when they win something. They don’t know that MAGA votes consistently and they vote red hat in every election. This will be changed. Guaranteed. DEMS will not vote anymore.

As far as I am concerned, no one has the right to decide a person's heath care, no matter what the sex, except that person and their doctor. I don't see this congress or the SCT. striking down a man's right to having a vasectomy.

I was wrong in predicting SCOTUS wouldn't torpedo Roe, but that was a car the GOP dog didn't want to catch. They got zero new voters and only motivated the rest to vote D. How many single-issue voters flipped to D over this?

My mentor in college is a former Republican Executive Director of the Indiana chapter of the ACLU (who abandoned the GOP post Regan) & even SHE believed Roe to be settled law that was a third rail the GOP wouldn’t dare touch... We were all lulled into a degree of complacency to some extent.

Well, thank you. I don't feel so stupid now. I usually do well on SCOTUS predictions, but that one floored me. And I got the birthright citizenship vote WAY off. Hell, I suspected they might not even hear it!

I agree the Republican establishment preferred opposing abortion rather than ending it, but recent elections don't show it hurting Rs. Dobbs came out June 2022. Rs gained 9 House seats in 2022 and 4 Senate seats in 2024 plus the presidency. I think there are more single issue voters on the R side.
