Taking prototype circuit boards in a plastic container through airport security caused a bit of a scene. Apparently it looked like a "classic device". My bag was put aside until a manager came and checked the x-ray and questioned me before anyone would touch it!

I once had a rubber head (for medical device demos) in my carry-on, apparently that looked like a real human head in the X Ray, and questions were asked.
