"For many, this is the video game industry’s “you reap what you sow” moment, proof that the AI tools many publishers have brazenly admitted to using are a double-edged sword." 🙃 Also, this Tim Sweeney guy is not an honest person. Great piece about an industry that is changing at breakneck speed:

I could add more, because this really goes well beyond the confines of the video game industry; the entire IT sector and the entertainment industry are affected. I have a list as long as my arm of concept artists, designers, and digital artists who can barely find any work anymore.

And it’s the same in my profession. Clients are becoming increasingly scarce. Entire lines of work are gradually disappearing. Even my own clients are at risk of vanishing in the medium term, as they, too, will be replaced—unless this becomes a political issue. Elections in France are 6 months away👃

So choose between a Macron, who doesn't care and will let you eat your own discontent or LePen, who also doesn't care, but will let you take out your frustations on people even worse off? 😬

A truly awful choice—one I’ve had to face maybe 15 times in my life, and it’s just not fair 😅—but the far right cannot be allowed to win. Too many people would suffer. But Macron is out and the game is open. ☝️

Writers too. Our lines of contact and opportunity are diminishing rapidly, as idiot execs use AI to generate concepts and draft scripts. They pitch it as 'innovation', while we all see it for what it is - rank stagnation in the service of profit margins.

"Also, this Tim Sweeney guy is not an honest person." Let me rephrase this for you... "Also, this Tim Sweeney guy is -------". I asked AI* what he was, but putting the reply here would get me banned. * Not a true story
