On a day when the stock market is set to reward someone who keeps causing harm all over the world, it’s a good reminder that even before we change the laws to make all sorts of disgusting but currently legal things illegal, the law should first apply equally to the rich.

When I learn all the disinformation, child sexual abuse (deepfakes), and foreign interference in French politics, I don't understand how X is still available in France. The slowness (and limited financial resources) of the justice system here are not up to par with these daily attacks on decency.

when the courts are not capable of stopping wrongdoing with existing statute and resources, its up to the legislature to create a law of proper scope and reach. when the legislators are behaving like sycophants of the elite, it's up to the people who put them there to remind them who they work for

we should all hope that things work out through electoral change, because when that fails (and it is currently in a stage of failure) the vast, vast majority of us, and our environment suffers

it will definitely hurt most of the the ignorant among us who vote for xenophobia and brutality, moreso because they will place the blame for their misfortune on the targets of their resentments. the slightly less ignorant might admit they are mad about being lied to, but they won't shift thier view
