This is a view from the surface of Comet 67P. The busy particles in the foreground are cosmic rays or bits of dust and ice. The dots moving in the background are stars.

This set of images was acquired by ESA's Rosetta spacecraft on 1 June 2016, and was processed by @landru79.bsky.social. Credit: ESA/Rosetta/MPS for OSIRIS Team MPS/UPD/LAM/IAA/SSO/INTA/UPM/DASP/IDA
Are the starfield-with-foreground-streaks from some real imagery? The credits to this piece mention www.esa.int/Science_Expl... , and there are quite a few animations there. I've skipped around in them but can't find one with anything like those starfields - can anyone else?
It's from the Rosetta space probe. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosetta...
I was wondering that too, but some quick searching confirmed it's footage from the European space agency's Rosetta space probe ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosetta... ).
Hi, @johnmoffitt.bsky.social This isn’t a fossil but it’s amazing! Hope you enjoy.
