What's your "origin" video game? Most gamers have a lot of favorite games, sure, but there's always one that basically ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฆ๐˜ง๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด you. I'm talking about the game that flipped that little switch in your brain and made into a life-long gamer. So, which game is ๐™ฎ๐™ค๐™ช๐™ง๐™จ?

Well, as cliched as it is, Mario Bros. I was there for the original NES, but I probably enjoyed SMB3 more. Then, of course, Super Mario World on SNES. I enjoyed Mario 64, but realized 3-D sandboxes were less fun than sidescrolling. Then Pokรฉmon red, blue, gold, and silver. Then I retired.

That didnโ€™t surprise me that you enjoyed more with 2D Sidescrolling Platform games than the 3D Platform Sidescrolling games. It does include you mostly stopped playing videogames in the beginning of the 21st Century. As you mentioned you have trouble understanding of modern videogames your son enjoy

Something is wrong with my brain. I can't walk with one hand and aim with the other. Let alone use the scope or whatever else. My son makes it look easy, like he's playing a symphony on a piano.

The rest of the Nintendo franchises such as Zelda (1986-), Metroid (1986-), Kirby (1992-), Star Fox (1992-) & etc are considered be mainstream cultural osmosis that only their fanbase are familiar with it as in hardcore fans.

Both Mario (1981-) & Pokemon franchises (1996-) are the top 2 that are the most popular franchises in Nintendo that both have hardcore & even casual fans which werenโ€™t mainstream cultural osmosis rather mainstream popular as in a permanent standing of cultural global icons.
