"Why is a nurse in Queens who makes $75,000 a year paying more than $1,000 a month in taxes?" Bezos said Wednesday morning on CNBC. "That's $1,000 that could help with rent, or groceries, or anything."

These are the words of someone who either doesn’t understand how taxes work or who is willfully misleading people. This just sets him and his oligarchs up for the destruction of whole segments of society: “well, they don’t have skin in the game, so…”

He also said if he paid his fair share of taxes it wouldn’t help a teacher in Queens. The teacher is paying 1k in taxes because billionaires don’t pay their fair share & rely on subsidies taxpayers are forced to fund. Head a leach

It will kill all programs meant to help poor people because 'they don't pay taxes anyway, they can use that money instead of getting it from the state'. If a billionaire floats any idea ever, it's to make himself better off. It's NEVER a good idea.

Fuck you, pay me. The time for this conversation was anytime in the last 20 years, but you all just quietly collected subsidies and paid politicians. We're done asking.
