Should Modrinth keep allowing AI content on their platform? Just today I saw this among new projects and to my disappointment, the staff immediately shut down any criticism and doubled down on their pro-AI stance. I really don't think this looks good nor that it should be allowed.

The first response I received from a staff member was extremely dismissive and curt, without any reason behind the decision. They shut down the entire convo just as fast. The message was simple - do not question our rules or talk back.

I'm fairly sure that I'm not the only one who feels heavy AI content does not belong on platforms hosting genuine mods someone put effort worth hundreds of hours into. Such content undermines the value of real mods and will cause unnecessary bugs a real human has to spend time fixing.

I STRONGLY agree. AI should be used as a learning tool **at most**. Struggling with build.gradle? Sure. Generating whole classes, or even mod? Gross. Just take an even a CURSORY look at the other options. You don’t have to use AI, you can commission, use KubeJS. Hell even MCreator is better IMHO.

And don’t even get me started on AI-generated logos and descriptions. If you cared enough to get this far, even with a fully AIGen mod, at least rub a pair of neurons together in MSPaint and write a short description.

I know that Modrinth is struggling to keep up with moderation. Hell I notice just when browsing by recently updates that days go by until changes come through. But they need to improve automated screening too, and that’d save them time. Filtering against AI isn’t hard-if the logo is AI, the mod is.
