A6: my best piece of advice for people who haven't had pets:
Don't feed them as soon as you get up. Because if you do, they will quickly learn that you being vertical = breakfast.
Which means they will want breakfast at 3 AM when you get up to use the bathroom.
A6: If you get a cat or dog, get ready to clean like you never have before! So much fur 😂 I am nowhere close to keeping up on the vacuuming, even while working from home. #StetChat
A6 (2): Save your work frequently. I had a cat walk across my keyboard and delete three pages of content. He didn't care, but I sure did.
Any drinks near your equipment should have a lid on it when a pet is around. #StetChat
Do Not Rely on AutoSave either.
Peri liked drinking from my water glass so much that she quickly was given a water glass of her own. She knows it's hers! And hasn't tried to drink out of mine since, and it's been years.

Yeah, she's a clever little thing, likes puzzle feeders/treat dispensers, has good object permanence.
Knows when she hears the laptop close that the workday is over and we can play or cuddle or she can ask to be brushed.
A6: Your favorite work cardigan is going to be destroyed. Paws and claws are not kind to knitwork. You'll take more breaks than you expect, especially with puppies. Build buffers into your contract deadlines. #StetChat
