formats evolve over decades, apps over months, intelligence is evolving every day in terms of pace layers "file over app" defines priorities: invest deeply in proven formats, and don't expect anything at the intelligence layer to last very long

I assume this graphic is influenced by the excellent bigmedium.com/ideas/design.... But or has always bothered me that it’s the inner planets are the ones that spin faster, so in our Solar system it‘s the other way around.

Im a big fan of pace / shear layers, but I don't quite follow this logic. Or what 'intelligence' is supposed to represent. AI? As a dev, file formats are something that change between app versions. They are not ingrained learnings, by any measure.
