Only the pathetically stupid came away from the presentations from Holmes and Evans and thought they had any merit. Treating it like a debate in the film would be counterproductive and leave them open to nitpicking (or worse, accidental errors bolstering Holmes' claims) Why argue with blatant lies?

If it helps any, I really don't want to see an Elizabeth Holmes documentary. I am familiar with the Theranos story and it's old news. It would be like seeing a rehash of Enron or OJ Simpson. I am wondering why there is so much interest today.

this article is full of pearl-clutching about Holmes fooling the audience about her tech, and just... relax fella. it is completely clear in the film that Holmes is talking nonsense. her lies were unconvincing to the point of getting huge laughs. she did not fool audiences or Nathan about the tech

It's less an "uncanny power" than a relentlessly rehearsed skill developed with years and years of dedicated practice. Recall that as an undergraduate when her peers were going to parties and being kids, Holmes was in front of a mirror practicing to lie with a convincing face. She is a sociopath.

Holmes deliberately recruited famous elderly men with little to no experience in biotech to be her board members. She claimed to have solved several different hard problems at once, and didn't prove any of it publicly. Experts in the field were calling bullshit very early on.

The only thing uncanny is how many people think this is what an uncanny power to persuade looks like. Aleena the Enchantress would never.

Jesus so boring. The only reason she’s in jail is she scammed billionaires. If she stole money from poor people she would be a Fox News hero.

“Shultz, the Theranos whistleblower, described it to me in an interview in 2022. “She was so good at it that even I, who was working with this product that was clearly not working, could go have a five-minute conversation with her and walk away feeling like my work was changing the world,””
