Also had the same first impression but after thinking it through I changed my mind. good performance for a few > bad performance for all It was on a quite data-heavy site: steamdb.info

Yea I can see both sides.. is it better to just give a (well rendered) error page, or is it better to reserve a place in the queue.. It seems like it rolls back the expectation that you should always strive to meet the demand of users etc
