Growing up in the 80s, it seemed like everyone was doing _something_ that made them feel like they were meaningful. People seem to think that nothing hard is worth the effort when it is the only indication of what _is_ worth the effort.

I'm going off a tangent but I think the same kind of people driving this new reality forward are the same that always asked you "but what's this useful for?" every time you presented any kind of toy project, and were unable to understand why you neither could nor want to answer that question.
