At Oregon and Shattuck, car after car passed stopped drivers on the right at high speed. This is one of the most dangerous driving maneuvers and demands physical daylighting infrastructure in this corner, not just paint.

Neither just paint, nor just paint & flashing lights: I saw a pedestrian narrowly avoid being flattened by an SUV that ran the flashing lights at Bancroft and Elsworth just yesterday. Paint and signals do little when so many drivers DGAF.

Berkeley’s 2020 pedestrian plan recommended bulb-outs and a median refuge there. But these have not yet been implemented & there have been no attempts to initiate project yet AFAIK.
