When nurses took my baby down the hall to administer extra nutrition, the animal grief and panic I felt was as if my child had died. It was like nothing I’ve experienced before or since, and that was with the assurance of reconnection within 20 minutes.

Yes absolutely, and a baby will essentially starve itself sometimes because it simply refuses to use a bottle. My daughter went breast—>sippy cup I just got choked up thinking about not being able to nurse and rock my bbs at night…those were the most precious bonding moments with all of my kids.

I’m so sorry you went through that. I had preeclampsia before/during labor. I was terrified of being hospitalized afterward and separated from my daughter. Just thinking about it was excruciating. People who haven’t been through it can try but will never quite understand the 4th trimester intensity.

As the article notes, recruiters have long promised immigration help for enlistees and family members. They're not using that application database for deportation. I think promising a benefit and delivering cruelty is inhumane.
