how far is 3d from being good to go? i care about skeletal anim and navmesh, but physics is not important (we will move our own projectiles, like the ancestors) (been talking w/ a friend about making stuff targeting 2000's-era 3d graphics for years atp)

I'd say very far along, see our games esp archives it needed a lot of that kinda stuff to land properly. you can peek all the posts i'm making I'm hinting at a little, since our 2d ready rc we've been focused on 3d ready naturally. how much exp do you have making 3d games?

haha, my role is mainly managerial now, but i was a gameplay programmer in unity from 2016 to 2018, doing for-hire and VR stuff. then i worked at insomniac on boss fight, accessibility, and Misc Gameplay Tasks As Required, then I worked on fortnite for a bit.

my guy is learning more the graphics side of things, so he's been doing shader experiments in unity. he's shipped me demos with basic gameplay programming he's done himself, but his dayjob is "international patent evaluator" so he has much less experience in games generally, 3d or otherwise.

I forget if we've chatted on discord but you can dm me there if you want to see stuff in motion!

never looked to hard into the full list, but there's no shortage of cool art/ist versions that I like a lot for a bunch of em (no exact ones come to mind)

I don't know much about Luxe but learning about more engines is good, right? The screenshots seem neat! So, like, what's your fave part of Luxe?

hah a hard question... there's too many things. I like that I have full control, can use as little or as much as I want, in terms of low to high level. I like that everything is easy, obvious, and not often surprising things idk. piece of string!

I hate this part of healing, I have several holes in my abdomen and they're now really itchy

The weird part is the place I have pain is from inflating my body with carbon dioxide not from making actual holes

recovery can be so boring, but i remind myself that the unboring versions can be a lot less fun (e.g complications)

Someone turned on a perpetual hunger switch when they deleted this organ but it makes sense cos I hadn't eaten properly in ~2 years, my whole body is like 🫪🫠🤔🤣🎢. happy to be healing (slow or otherwise)
