I would like to set up a community space/chat for SkyFeed, which platforms/protocols would you recommend? the obvious pick here is Discord, but not sure if that really fits the whole "privacy-friendly and decentralized" vibe. I would also consider trying roomy, but not sure how polished it is yet?

I would take Signal over Discord IF you want it to be basic & private. Roomy IS actually quite nice but it's not going to be completely private with regards to images at least (I just added this to a room I set up): pdsls.pages.dev/at://did:plc...

signal is great if you don't have a need for multiple channels (although you can always just make different chats)

I’m still going to note that images uploaded into roomy can be accessed outside of roomy (which is something to note / emphasize for anyone concerned about full privacy vs just wanting a way to avoid trolls.)

Yep, images you post are stored on your PDS. That’s why we disallow image uploads in private spaces until permissioned data is a thing.

Talk to @atproto.fr - they have atproto login to Matrix that works pretty well! @roomy.space @colibri.social are both worth trying but still early! I think we’re far enough along to not start new things on Discord
