Amazon Prime- gone. Peacock- gone. Fox One- gone. Lowe’s and Home Depot- dead to me. Next up: ditching Xfinity/Comcast for a local internet provider. Being patriotic while giving the middle finger to these bastards, AND saving money while doing it feels awfully good.

Need a good suggestion to replacing AT&T. Feel like all telecom companies are comprimised in some way. The smaller companies don't make it affordable to switch; ie I'd have to pay off my iphone (still owe over $500 for it) Worried I will pay it off only to sign up for a plan that won't be worth it.

Thank you for posting list but I have questions: Lowe's not Home Depot? (I'm guessing Ace Hardware is the better option) If you NEED to ship ... is one worse "FedEx or UPS" because USPS is no longer a viable option (Thanks DeJoy) Same question, "AT&T or Comcast"? Living in an internet duoapoly

Home Depot is on Scott's Trump pac support boycott list.. Lowe's is on the ice list specifically because of the surveillance camera mobile units they have set up in every one of their parking lots and is providing ice access to the feeds

Thanks, I think we can find ways to avoid patronizing them. However we might think about impact (or not, more realistically) the BDS movement has had on achieving objectives in Israel. Perhaps reputational damage from naming and shaming is more impactful than buying my paint at the Depot instead?

Anyone holding shares to any of these companies should sell them. One can always buy them back at a cheaper price, once they all hit rock bottom and they learn their lessons! We have the power, NOT them.

May I suggest to reduce friction and increase conversion on this campaign, put pro-democracy/privacy/harm reduction alternatives on the website that after folks unsubscribe from kleptocracy enablers they can switch to something else leading to longer term losses for the big corporate goons.

For example, I switched from gmail/calendar/drive/docs/sheets to Proton Mail/drive/docs/sheets almost a year ago and never looked back I switched from Google Chrome/search to Brave browser/search I switched from WhatsApp to Signal and got my friends to follow Lowes/Home Depot→Menards/Ace

You might also leverage Lent for this campaign to replace algorithnically driven habits: Unsubscribe from streaming platforms→read books purchased from locally owned book stores for Lent Replace doomscrolling FB/Twit/Insta/TT with skill building on Khan Academy/Udemy Lent can be anti-corporation

Bottom line: As a marketing prof I think you'll understand reducing barriers to conversion by listing viable alternatives right on the website will increase your numbers and have sustained impact by changing peoples habits not just going without streaming for a few weeks then resubscribing in March

Scott, wouldn't the best strategy be to target one single company so as to focus the effort and it's impact and use them as an example scalp to hold up for all the others to notice?

This is great. I've already done some of it BUT: 1. Why are you on any Zucky platforms at all? 2. I sure would like to be able to generate a one or two page PDF from the website to share with friends.

Love the energy, but give me a single example of a local, small business that can replace AT&T, FedEx and UPS?? Boycotts are great, but without a government willing to break up these shadow monopolies it’s just yelling into the void. The average US consumer has zero choice but to use most of these

I imagine it would be somewhat different for each example. Such as my hometown of Arlington’s Marriott Corporation allowing ICE to stay in their hotels. And perhaps offering group discounts…
