You’re keeping the resistance up by letting Google, Meta and Apple help you earn a few bucks and, in turn, let them earn a few. Where would this all be without the resistance. Smart

I didn’t update the family’s 4 iPhones and my Apple watch last year. That’s about $5,000 revenue Apple lost. Will start buying again once Tim Cooks crawls out of Trump’s colon. Think beyond just canceling subscriptions.

I did not have "American marketing guru publishing big tech boycott list" on my 2026 bingo card. I have to admit, I'm pleasantly surprised.

It’s hard to do this 100%. For example, I like to watch independent media on Utube, but that is owned by Google. So we do what we can, I’m up to 5 of the 10 cut.

A few moral alternatives: 1) Chrome-> Ecosia 2) Meta-> Substack, Bluesky 3) Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify-> Qobuz, AntennaPod, Tidal 4) Apple -> Android 5) Amazon Prime: Cancel all add-on subscriptions. 6) Reduce video streaming to one channel 7) Cancel premium services on the rest!

Does harm reduction count? Use less?

The energy is right, but for a vast majority of the US, most of these companies are unavoidable in every day life. We need alternatives to these tacit tech monopolies.

Please share alternatives so we do it right.

If you somehow get rid of both Google and Microsoft, what other system is there? Doubt an Apple product. Thx.

Try to use things you aren’t paying extra for?? Eg. I pay for extra space on my Google Drive. I’m trying to move all those documents to my external drive and cancel the extra storage I’m paying for. Want to hear other ideas!

I cancelled Apple TV, X and Facebook a while ago. Now I’ve switched from Comcast/Xfinity to T-Mobile. Prime is next when the year subscription ends in a couple months.

I unsubscribed from @thedispatchmedia.bsky.social because of their ideological blathering about universal government health care. It's a subject they know nothing about. They don't even think about it deeply because... You know... Socialism.

So disappointed in Apple and Tim Cook. I was about to buy a new Apple Watch, and upgrade some iPhones and iPads. Putting off all of those purchases and unsubscribed to Apple One.

How are your index funds doing during this boycott?

I already don't use 5 out of 10 of those.

A great alternative - if you donate $5/month to your local public television station, you get access to a ridiculous amount of content on the PBS app. Tax deductible and a free gift. www.pbs.org

I noticed that I had some of these apps on my phone even though I don't use them. Deleted now. Do companies benefit just from having us carrying their apps on our phones? Like showing broader reach than they have? Or being able to claim app users?

My boycott involves using a couple of these and only using the free tiers and never buying anything from their ads. They get my consumer profile totally wrong anyway. As a gay CIS male, it’s amazing how many tampons I DONT need.. 🇨🇦😘🏳️‍🌈

You can’t call for a boycott without reasons and then say to boycott Meta with the Threads logo on the image.

I hear you, Scott...we canceled our Prime membership and Apple TV - I won't be purchasing a new phone from Apple. It is actually quite liberating to disconnect from these providers

Thanks for the coaching. I’ve cancelled almost all subscriptions. I’m better, happier, focused and productive because of it. DO IT!

But my 401(k) balance is due to and dependent upon the success of most of these companies. What a conundrum.
