This is not true. Every locality has a Democratic Party organization, with activities and regular meetings. You can go to them. You can participate.

There's nothing to "join" in the Democratic Party. It's a brand with products I spend my vote on once a year at the democracy store. Most people's experience of it is an endless stream of texts that read like scams, their reward for donating or signing a petition. No wonder DSA is growing

And for the ever loving love of fuck I am not caping for the Democrats simply by noting that you can go to the Democratic Party med in your town/ city/ county and take them over. My brother literally did this with a coalition he built and now they run and win as leftists

This is true. There is a Democratic Party of Jackson County, AL, although I don't know if or when they regularly meet. They *were* the ones complaining about the lack of leadership from the national party.

I think, more accurately, especially at the level of electeds, there's no formal organization that you can be kicked out of for not being Democratic enough. Which is how you get a Manchin or a Fetterman. But also how we get the DSA. Win the primary, and the D is next to your name on the ballot.
