I didn't know that giving prefix argument to M-x occur will display surrounding lines kristofferbalintona.me/posts/202411... Very nice feature. #Emacs

This is very useful combined with another extremely handy feature. While in *Occur* buffer typing 'e' will start occur-edit-mode. Exit with C-c C-c and if changes are made they are applied immediately in the starting buffer.

Similar functionality is available in grep-mode with wgrep-change-to-wgrep-mode and dired-mode with wdired-change-to-wdired-mode (which I have bound to C-x C-q). Last one very helpful for renaming multiple files. Just edit file names in dired-buffer and type C-c C-c.
