NB: When I, a professor of law, profess that an act is unlawful, I am not doing it to inform the lawbreaker, but rather to inform you, the reader. So the question “what, like you think he cares?” is inapposite. The question is whether *you* care. I think you should, which is why I bother.

I get this - and agree. But people are saying something else when they flippantly reply “like he cares.” They’re looking for the action they can take. Yes, it’s not normal or acceptable. Yet our only action is to vote a year from now? How do we stop the next 11 months of harm, suffering, and death?

Depends on the action. Notice. Inform your family and friends. Vote. Protest. Support legal actions. Archive all this. Help others. Do not normalize; which is what not caring, not noting, and expecting Republicans to rein it in will do.

THIS. I also mostly see this from white men and women. Discouraging voters and pushing young people into the “why bother voting if both sides are exactly the same” and other right wing talking points that lead to low voter turnout which only benefits you guessed it republicans.

If they want to just rage I get that but go rage against racists bigots and republicans. Discuss your frustrations with democrats at town halls by calling/writing them meeting with them joining in at a county level to help them move things along quicker. Etc. we don’t need to air out dirty laundry

So to speak. we are just as much a part of the media sphere and we don’t do our part to help share the less exciting stuff that’s usually more important and helpful than the flashy performative bs that gets clicks.
