He was one of my favorite pitchers during that time, though I was/am a Cincinnati Reds fan (Bowie Kuhn screwed the Reds on the trade for Blue).

We were at a Marriott re-opening and a man came up to say hello. I didn’t have my glasses on and put them on to see his name tag. VIDA BLUE!!! OMG. That was so cool. Hugged him and took a picture.
