Great points here. There was a really fun talk at ServerlessDays Cardiff this year from Sarah Hamilton and @lukehedger.bsky.social that went over a similar theme; bugs are inevitable, so putting an emphasis on observability to catch those bugs and fix them is worth more long term than 100% coverage.

Glad you enjoyed the talk Pip and some of the key points landed! We’ve been trying to show how the balance between testing and o11y is crucial for a few years and whenever it clicks for someone, we see a little sparkle in their eyes and there’s no going back!!
