Really effective/clever viz to not clip the subplots (obv Fed, but also Ed/Health) 2 questions: Is the color denoting + vs - change? Should "Public" be orange? What sector classifications are these? Ed/Health is an odd combo to me, is Fed a subsector of "public"?

Fair questions all. This uses BLS categorizations, so some odd groupings. Construction/manu were combined just to include manufacturing and, yes, preserve the grid. The orange is mostly just to differentiate manu and fed employees (as it plunges past the other categories).

Great data viz overall but I think I'm missing why “manufacturing” gets special treatment on the “construction” sub-graph? Would appreciate a scrap of explanation...

More likely tech layoffs and associated sectors trying to prove AI efficiencies in line with the delusional promises various vendors and managers have made to each other. Nursing would fall under education/health.

I'm impressed by the jobs going down as demand goes down (and I suppose, demand goes down as jobs go down, on into deeper recession). Also impressed with "Ninety-two of every 100 jobs added since January have been in the education and health care sector." Good piece, thanks.

Many of my neighbors in NOVA. NIH, USAID, IRS, DOJ, no such agency. No sane institution anywhere in the world would willingly decapitate its own workforce. Donalda bin Laden convincing his adherents to suicide bomb our government.
