Okay, let's talk about why that ignorance exists in the first place. Not one mention of the federal agenda to keep Americans "dumb" so they can be easily manipulated? We have never properly taught true history in schools. Let's not be daft with headlines that act like this is some new development 😒

The direct result if this country being hyperfocused on STEM education beyond all else. We have kids who can write code for computers when they're 9 years old but cant find they're home state on a map.

With US literacy rates in the toilet & declining further, this is sad but not a surprise. Curiosity and the desire to learn & be/stay informed has been supplanted by social media (& more recently by AI) for many Americans. Like Forrest's mama said, "Stupid is as stupid does." #DigitalBread&Circuses

That's what you get when you don't get involved in things like School boards and those other 'boring' democratic institutions and at best come out to vote in the big ones, There's always someone who IS voting, and they aren't motivated by your liberty and best interests. *cough*Fascists*cough*

And that's why tRump loves " the uneducated" - they don't know how government works so they're easy to con and easy to fleece... they call themselves MAGA

Has that got something to do with abysmal education stats ? 21% of U.S. Adults (roughly 43 to 45 million people) are classified as functionally illiterate. 4.1% are considered completely non-literate. And - 54% of U.S. adults read below a sixth-grade level. Bigly sad - but suits the MAGA GOP.

The current administration is actively dismantling the Dept. of Education. Civic and civility seem to be now be abstract concepts. Sad, on so many levels.

And in the least surprising news of the day…remember this country elected Trump not just once, but twice. Ignorance is their badge of honor

The word, "patriot", entered the English language in the late 1500s through the Middle French word patriote. Originally, it was simply a neutral term used to describe someone from the same country. Today, the word is interchangeable with the word, "asshole".

Once again, NPR calls Americans idiots then wonders why readers & donations are tanking. Great day to put the nation down. Why not? NPR sold out a free press for corporate, party-controlled media that hides a depression, corruption & tyranny on the Left to remind Americans they suck almost daily.

“If you assume that a democratic society depends upon well-rounded deliberation of being exposed to the views of other people, the information environment itself is not conducive to the underlying foundation of democratic debate”

Asked a homeschooled maga zoomer bro how many branches of government and their titles... His response: "That's a trick question" "There's too many now" "They're all Dumocrat anyway" 🇺🇸📉💀⚰️

It is my opinion (and no, I do not consider myself a conspiracy theorist) that this is intentional by certain powers-that-be. An ignorant nation is one that is more easily controlled. Knowledge is power, after all. …and they feel that if they take power from others, the more they have

Yes - there has been an inordinate amount of pressure to not teach civics or history. But add religion! What the heck SHOULD we expect? The more religious you are, the more likely a BIGOT! And the less educated you are, the more likely you are a MAGAt!

We are paying the price for the Democrats having their heads in the sand. The GOP took over local governments, school boards and state legislature. The Ds were more concerned with the presidency and congress.
