This week, we announced webhook actions in Notion. Think of them as digital bridges connecting Notion to your favorite tools. Here’s how they work—and how you can use them automate some of your work 🧵👇

Webhook actions let you link Notion to other tools through apps like Zapier and Make. For example: ✅ Mark a post "Approved" → it’s published on LinkedIn ✅ Update a task status → create a ticket in Zendesk

Think of it this way: when something happens in Notion—like a completed task—webhook actions tell another tool, “Do your thing!” You can trigger them two ways in Notion: 1️⃣ Through database automation 2️⃣ Using button blocks

Imagine this: You manage social media, tracking captions, images, and approvals in a database. With webhook actions, when a post is marked "Approved," it can automatically go live on LinkedIn. Here’s how to set it up:

First, generate a webhook URL from a tool like Make. This URL is what connects Notion to your social platform. You’ll paste it into your Notion automation in the next step.

Then, set up your Notion automation. In your social media database: 1️⃣ Click the ⚡️ icon (top right) and select “New automation.” 2️⃣ Set your trigger: When "Status" changes to "Approved." 3️⃣ Add an action: “Send webhook.” 4️⃣ Paste your webhook URL and select properties to send (e.g., caption, image).

Now, when a post is marked "Approved" in Notion, it’ll be sent to Make and posted on LinkedIn automatically. From planning to publishing, your workflow just got a lot smoother 😎

Want even more control? Use a button in your database page instead: - Add a button labeled "Publish Post." - Link it to your webhook URL. Now you can publish posts with a single click.
