Agreed. Let’s say I was some rich guy and I was in the files for purely innocuous reasons, but can’t prove I didn’t do anything evil. Fuck it, they can have my head, I’m fine being collateral so long as it means these evil bastards are stopped for good.

I am generally a huge fan of the presumption of innocence, but I think, when you get to a certain level of wealth and power over other people's lives, that should be overridden by the demand for proactive accountability.
