You're not sure languages exist? J/k, but I seriously don't understand this as a philosophical point. When we are talking algorithms, sure, it's good to be "language independent". IMO claiming to be language agnostic is like claiming to be unbiased. Best to confront our biases then deny them.

Thanks for clarifying and sorry for the typo. I suppose part of what I'm trying to point out is there is a degree of religiosity in how we talk about languages. I don't want to disparage anyone's faith in a language, and I don't want them to disparage mine. Make sense ?

💯 on cyber truck ownership being worth calling out on multiple levels. I suppose I am also saying that if someone wants to work with another language that should be their prerogative. I don't love the idea of a "closed shop" when it comes to languages.

Giving a security corollary: If someone wants to use #PowerShell to monitor system changes, but the org doesn't actively use PowerShell, saying "we won't start using this because we don't understand it" is almost malpractice. Ignorance -ne Bliss

Even then I have qualms. Give me a real technical rationale any day of the week. Saying "we don't know this now, so we should not ever use it" is a common refrain, and, in my opinion, an unwise one.
