In a proposal that should surprise no one, the Royals want to rip out bike lanes and fuck up pedestrian crossings to make sure the fans in cars aren't inconvenienced compasskc.kcmo.org/EnerGov_Prod...

Their transportation assessment doesn’t add up either.I did the math awhile back and they are gonna need closer to 26k parking spaces in that area to accommodate all the event venues. (Not including Bartle Hall bc I forgot to include them in the math) PLUS apartments and office buildings in the area

The could fix all of it by just giving us decent public transportation. It’s also funny because in their own transportation assessment they say people will come by bike and then immediately advocate for removal of bike lanes

Of course the Royals find a way to mess this up. Just build the damn stadium in Overland Park and leave the city alone at this point.

Must have several public meetings to implement a road diet, but I assume this "modification" (weasel words) can all just be done under some blanket Royals umbrella.

Worth noting that this study contradicts the Populous study on the same Compass page you linked (the "UR Design Guidelines" report), which encourages more pedestrian friendly experiences and multimodal transportation.

Yeah, build an urban stadium or don't. Stop this turning the city into the suburbs bullshit. Need to rank these from worst to least worst. Dieting those Crossroads streets form high speed one-ways was a long fight.
