"The average Briton's wealth has fallen by more than a fifth over the past 5 years". If only there were an obvious reason why. I can't think of anything significant happening around 5 years ago that could make Britain so vulnerable. Let's make the person that made Brexit happen our Prime Minister.

I’m as anti BREXIT as anyone, but this does illustrate the fact that (tragically for their wealth) so few British people invest their money in the stock market . Almost 50% return in a low cost FTSE tracker over the last five years, even more if you include dividends and all tax free in an ISA

Oh no, no, no, it was the pandemic, as the article says, because, as we all know, the pandemic didn't affect other countries, ya know, and it can't have been Brexit, because the Oven Ready Deal really was a big win for Brexit Britain over all other countries. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

The Brexit Vote was created with lies & misinformation via The Westminster Parliament of the People! Ten long miserable years with a Inflicted Financial & Social Tragedy” The EU requires to be reinstated immediately by the said Parliament before any more damage is done to “The People and Decendants:

We need to understand what drives support for Farage. People who think they see a country falling apart, a fear driven by the right wing press. For many life is tough with stalled living standards so when a guy comes along telling you migrants are responsible they fall for it.

... And this is the fundamental reason that the hospitality industry is failing. What used to be affordable isn't any more. If income had gone up at the same rate as prices, £8 for coffee and cake or £30 for steak and chips wouldn't look so eye watering.

Yeah, but, like, billionaires have worked hard for their money, they shouldn't have to pay as much tax as those who weren't born with rich parents and have worked 10 times as hard as them, surely?

I feel this, we’ve had salary increases and are earning a lot more than we did when our family was young. We should feel comfortable, yet we definitely don’t feel any better for it due to the exorbitant COL squeeze AND punitive fiscal drag.

It couldn’t be clearer: England and Wales voted for Brexit, and got the Brexit they voted for. Northern Ireland voted to remain in the EU, and because of the troubles got a special relationship with the EU. Scotland voted emphatically to remain in the EU, and was told to shut up and accept it.

Just blame immigrants and go on stealing money from ordinary working people. Give them lies and take their money. Simple! They don't need facts! Just a nauseous feeling in their bellies.

I LOVE living here. I really do. But where are the answers to declining UK wealth & no growth? - things that even as an outsider are glaringly obvious to me. A 0.6% GDP growth figure is pitiful. Borderline flatlining. Maybe advocate explicitly for rejoining the EU? Something has to change….

Why does the UK seem so broke then? What am I missing? Why does Germany & Austria seem so much more prosperous & less shabby & run down? I’m serious. Are my observations all just anecdotal?

Must be I'm sure some places in Austria and Germany are nicer than the UK But people online love to think its fair to compare Vienna or Grunwald with Barnsley and Stoke Go to Castle Combe or Chelsea or the nicest parts of Oxford and compare them to Gelsenkirchen The facts are the facts
