(called strange behavior in most places) similar story to diabolical dr z. really well done. it has a surreal/uncanny layer that’s hard to describe, and a score by tangerine dream

from the director of troll 2. I heard was a so-bad-it’s-funny movie, like troll 2. I wasn’t disappointed

this release has a modern jazzy score that really fits the zany vibe

the most unique zombie comedy

woman-directed body horror. pretty well done and personal movie about self harm. the gore is kinda intense even for me

I tend to like old B movies but this one wasn’t even entertaining. the wasp woman only appears for a few minutes total and the costume is just a mask and gloves lol

I don’t like rabid quite as much as shivers or the brood, but this era of cronenberg is a vibe. I like that they all take place in winter because of how the canadian funding cycles worked

canadian slasher starring samantha eggar (the brood). it starts with such a promising premise in the first 15 minutes but then it doesn’t really connect to the rest of the movie. I like the snowy winter setting tho

the brood + scanners soundtrack kinda weird they combined them onto one record, but these are my two favorite cronenbergs, so it’s nice

anthology of 4 short stories. not my favorite format but pretty entertaining

rollin continues to be good at turning european castles and ruins into movies. this one was different in that it had a campy scooby doo tone I didn’t expect, with hippie vampires

the 70s one is the better film imo, but I like the 50s poster

the director’s second ‘strange’ movie. not as interesting, but a good time

the sequel is similar but focused more on aliens. it has a surprisingly good martial arts sequence and I spotted three kiyoshi kurosawa cameos

kind of adorable alien invader story

so good

spooky caturday lineup

sadly the soundtrack doesn’t include the cat version of this song

decent early “weird town has a secret” movie

austrian folk horror that’s like if the vvitch had the vibe of eraserhead

recent satanic cult movie from argentina. not great but it has a satisfying feminist story. I like that the devil has 8 nipples

early “group of people try to survive a haunted house” movie, from the underrated robert wise. maybe the earliest movie I find legit scary? the thunderous reverb of the pounding sound is so good. reminds me of the tunnel echoes in the third man
