Post

it’s october

I like both versions of suspiria in different ways, but most of all I like the music in both

all timer. the only movie I know of where a zombie wrestles a shark I also appreciate that they call the zombies zombies

70s talk show found footage horror. fun and sometimes quite spooky

bonkers horror comedy with ghosts and aliens and sex scenes that are a little too japanese. the cover art gives House vibes

flawed but maybe the creepiest j-horror of its era (haven’t seen the sequels)

kiyoshi kurosawa’s séance. it’s pretty good. best viewed loud

christopher lee and donald sutherland in black and white. it’s not Good but I like it

this one rules

similar to other jean rollin films I’ve seen - pretty bad writing but I love the dreamy aesthetic. great shots and locations. final scene made me queasy lol

top tier creepy cult town movie

experimental dialogue-free nightmare

georgetown in the fall really is spooky

I liked this one a lot. great atmosphere, sets, photography

jfc this one is scary. love the first hour, then the third act gets kinda stupid, then I absolutely loved the ending. so overall great

mexico’s first horror talkie. decently enjoyable version of this story. maybe the worst sword choreography I’ve ever seen lol

finally saw this. kinda uneven but worth it for the last few minutes lol

this evening’s double feature

excited about this lineup: ants!!

Add Matinee (1993) to that and you have the lineup for the last BORLFF Empire of the Ants was just... baffling.

I’m watching them in order of increasing quality empire of the ants is fun but not Good

empire of the ants is bad but also sometimes awesome them! is legit great and I’m happy it got a 4k release this year

phase iv is one of my favorites this release comes with a version that, among other changes, includes the original ending which is extremely good and very saul bass-ian. unfortunately it’s only on a regular blu ray and not the 4k, so I switch discs in the final 10 minutes when I watch now
