are we ready to talk about how zero suit samus was maybe the worst thing to happen to the metroid series or is zero mission still untouchable

can u explain why it was the worst thing to happen to a non metroid fan

it's weirdly objectifying, completely kills zero mission's pacing for a shitty stealth section, and they kept shoehorning it into every single game and it looks like ass in half of them

Okay I absolutely agree that it's weirdly objectifying and it often looks like ass but that said, the payoff in zero mission where you see her childhood drawing and her the armor back is GOOD and I think I wouldn't get rid of it

the big issue imo is mostly just that after you get it back the final boss and extra lap for item cleanup just isn't very fun

I also don't love the whole "samus grew up on zebes" stuff in terms of making the world feel really small (alongside Ridley killing both sets of parents, it's just a bit much)

hmm. I do like how it explains all the Chozo ruins (and why the Pirates were there at all, to use abandoned Vhozo technology), but it does make the world feel smaller
