Cancelling a subscription shouldn't be this hard. If you can sign up with a click, you must be able to cancel with one. Head to nyc.gov/click-to-cancel to file a complaint against any business that makes it hard to cancel a subscription.

sir, can you please punish the businesses calling from canadian numbers to get around the do not call list? i didn’t ask for a personal loan. also, my roof is 3 years old and the trees i have are on the city easement (they trim them!) and i’m not thomas klingensmith. stop calling/texting me!!!

I can’t afford to sign up for anything so that helps. And all “entertainment” is really gaslighting me by failed males. Ellison is promoting some pretty creep shit on the soap operas these days. Women’s fiction is ruined.

There is a company out there that works with other cos; ROKU and Google are 2 of them who both of them route you to to cx subscriptions. At NO point in the process does that co disclose any fees, 1x or subscription. It's SUBDELETE and it's a ripoff. F with the BBB and copious complaints about fees.

Was talking w/a MAGA that now doesn’t like Trump any longer but as she was leaving I asked her if she likes Mayor Mamdani & she said no bec his mom was in the Epstein files. I said w/about Trump being in the Epstein files w/pics & videos of him w/young girls & her reply, there’s no proof of that!

I hope this is just a bit, and I will be using it either way, but if you are dying I hope you are getting time and peace with your family.

Basic corporate accountability in action. If an algorithm can enroll you in two seconds with stored payment data, requiring endless phone queues or hidden web forms to cancel is deliberate manipulation. Government should actively protect working people from predatory design patterns. 👏⚖️

We follow this plan: • No autopay unless it’s under $10. • No subscriptions. Canceling Prime, Hulu, and Netflix turned into nightmares. • Never give debit card payment method or bank details. No matter what deals they promise, it’s too hard to undo if the vendor is uncooperative.

The "One-Click Signup" is a digital welcome mat; the "Cancel Subscription" process is a psychological gauntlet designed to make you feel like you're breaking up with a needy ex. Friction is the product.

Right before the pandemic, when I had a great FT job, I signed up with Massage Envy. Told them I wouldn’t be using their services during C-19. Had to bring a note from my Dr stating I had Asthma and it could be deadly if I was exposed. They make it so difficult.

I tried so hard to get rid of Amazon Prime. I called my bank to see if they could stop the withdrawals, they couldn’t. The girl was so nice on the phone, at the bank. She told me exactly how to do it. She had the same problem. Thank you bank lady.

I've already had this problem with Microsoft, which is impossible to talk to anyone, impossible to cancel my subscription. I had to cancel my credit card and there they called me and I told them to go shit.

I agree with you completely. I once was charged $50.00, $50.00 to a subscription to the podcast "Sisters In Law. " I don't remember EVER signing on, so I tried to cancel. Well, I could never unsubscribe . Tried and tried but never could. 👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹

That's maddening. What usually works: email them asking for written confirmation it's cancelled plus a refund by a set date, then dispute with your card if they ignore it (US credit cards: generally 60 days from the statement). Screenshots of your cancel attempt help a lot.

Adobe makes it very hard to cancel a product once you’ve signed up to use it. Three times I thought I’d cancelled this subscription. I think it’s finally stuck: I see a refund coming. But MAN. NO GOOD, ADOBE.

While you’re at it, go after the retail sites where you go to buy one item and they try to upsell five to ten more items before you can finally check out.

Ever tried deleting your facebook account? Not disabling ; deleting. It’s a nightmare and even when you succeed in jumping through the hoops, they wait six months to finalize it. Absurd.

@mayor.nyc.gov , what's all this, eh? You keep going on like this, you are gonna drive away all the Biiiiig Money from NYC !! But screw 'em ! You keep doing your good work, Mr Mayor. We love you even if we don't live in your city!

I hate to say this but PBS does this. You can’t email or submit anything written. You have to phone them Then they don’t actually cancel and you can’t get them to send you written confirmation when you call So after multiple calls I recorded the convo and told them I’d sue Disappointed, PBS

Adobe should be litigated into the ground for this. The part of their site designated to cancelling your subscription has been "down for maintenance" for over a year.

Same with Google office. My daughter paid $8.50 per month for more than a year after she thought she cancelled it. Had to block on her credit card because couldn’t figure out how to cancel because she apparently originally signed up for it through Weebly. (Now Stripe). Can’t get anyone on phone.

Planet Fitness is the worst. You have to cancel in person but only when manager is around and no one can tell you when manager will be there because they go to different locations. Two months of trying to cancel. Ended up blocking auto pay through my bank.

Cripes, I guess they did that relatively recently? I was a PF member between 2016 and 2020 canceled because of Covid and I just had to call them to let them know that I obviously couldn't go to the Gym because of the disease.

This is why I admire the guy who vibe coded the entire Adobe platform and is giving it away for free---because Adobe charges exorbitant amounts if you cancel mid-"contract." A terrible ripoff.

Well, as a pioneer Internet marketer (1996), I can tell you the vast majority of businesses who accept online credit cards, will have the 'endless loop refund approach' I complained about in 2001. I subsequently left the IM scene as a result of the hype, dishonesty and this kind of refund bullshit!

How many times have you paid for a second month of an unwanted subscription to something that should never have been sold as a subscription in the first place? Abolish corporations, ICE, Republicans, and our current fake capitalism which is actually corporate welfare. Eliminate billionaires.

Please cancel the Flock Camera subscription. The cameras are all over the city. If it’s a state thing, please get Governor Hochul to do it. It’d be a nice campaign boost for her. Then all of NYS wins. Thanks!

Fun fact, flock just recently filed a lawsuit against a man that made a site that located and mapped all 3200 flock cameras in the USA. Which is a problem, because flock only reports 2400 flock cameras in the US. Isn't that quacking crazy? 🤪

Ah, yep. You are correct. Or more you *were* correct. Because in the process of fact checking myself, that number has jumped to only 120 000 of 335,000 being reported... Jesus Fucking Christ

Good. I’ve had to go thru canceling the credit card to stop a subscription sign up that was hidden in small print

How about cellular companies that keep charging you, three months after you’ve switched to a competitor? T-Mobile did that to me, and turned the bogus charges over to a collection agency WITH penalties and late fees added, thus tanking my credit score.

Here's a tip: call your bank and tell them you need to replace the credit card that the subscription you no longer want, is on. When the card is replaced, that subscription will end.

Unless you live in Ted Kazinski's shack in Montana, you've dealt with this. It's fixing the little things that make life less stressful.

This clip made me lol, but in real life, it's not funny when businesses try to make it harder than it should be to decide not to be their customer any longer.

It’s so many. Even if you can cancel with a click they just keep billing you. I refuse to sign up for any subscription that isn’t a huge mainstream public company anymore. I had long covid for 3 years without energy to fight every battle and I lost probably thousands of dollars. 💵. Never again!

The trend is to automatically subscribe you at checkout, without an opt in/out option. Some have small print "to unsubscribe, contact support @...." But some don't even have that. And it still makes you go through the extra steps to stop it. Common for supplements/food items.

Share near far & wide ‼️🚨⏰🔔ALL Americans 👇👇👇👇don’t be blind A lower price of the Diesel for you will only be for 7 weeks ; just enough for DJT to win the midterms ; putin only just has sufficiënt Diesel for his own people. Putin doesn’t has more Diesel. Putin & trump are no Hero’s as they …. 👇👇👇

Agree. Also, the bottle deposit thing is a total scam. The only reason the 13 states who have it is because its a cash grab for non-returns. Why should we have to work so hard to get our money BACK? Why not have a separate garbage bin that could actually count the cans and credit your account? Scam.

Cancel the subscription to the NYPD helping ice shoot up crowded neighborhoods and targeting families while they’re picking up their kids from school and daycare centers. Fire Trish.
