Post

A friend of mine was just talking up conspiracy theories that Trump had Rob Reiner killed for his anti Trump posts. People are hungry to believe that posting is a matter of life and death, to make it proportional to the bandwidth it takes up in their emotional lives.

A single phone call asking a city council member or state legislator to vote your way on a specific legislative proposal has *significantly* more political impact than a social media post with 1,000 shares.

I remember calling my state senator from work once to voice my concern about a bill that was being proposed to eliminate the need for licensure to practice law in my state (I'm an attorney). He called me back and told me he was going to kill it in committee and he did.

Even in mid-sized cities, it’s a really small group of people who actually go to city council meetings and participate directly in the process. Showing up, knowing what you’re talking about, being persistent (and polite) gets results!
