Yeah. I cried. It was sweet. Especially poignant since his daughters are at NASA watching. And, yes, I like that they named their mission Integrity. Makes Reid’s detectable irritation about not being able to communicate w/his kids via email even more understandable—single parenting from space!

To be CLEAR, he sounded only slightly irritated Saturday night just before they all went to bed b/c still no email. IIRC, he asked Mission Control to have his kids email his colleagues because he still couldn’t access. Like, nice guy trying not to be pissy—not at all actually snarky 😂

I had the privilege of watching it live this afternoon. Crying right along with 4 humans hurtling through space. This is what humanity is. A moment to be remembered as our world continues to crumble. 😢

This was such a spontaneously moving moment to witness. I was crying right there with the crew. Such a beautiful display of love and the best of humanity, a quarter million miles away from home.

The world craves much needed examples of humanity, and what better example could there be conveyed than by these 4 astronauts, the courageous elite in their respective fields, flying in a spaceship, designed and built by the finest minds in the world?
