Hate to be this person (I don’t) but his analysis (to the extent it’s informed) starts CORRECT — we buy a lot of junk we don’t need for cheap. Trump takes a correct analysis & then completely screws the pooch on DIAGNOSIS. This isn’t to his credit (god forbid) but it reflects how voters reason.

For some reason it pisses people off to acknowledge how he works. But this is key. He can be intuitively right about a complex macro policy and then be completely batshit in his diagnosis for it. A lot of people just feel the first part.

You can't shame someone who has no shame

True but you can embarrass and belittle the fuck out of them and that will feel like shame to them and they will react poorly.
