Good morning #Septopolis. If you're using this to build something and haven't picked one yet, take today and ponder it (I did this last year in fact!). Then, tell us about how it got this name. It could be serious and directly from in-world or it could be a silly in-joke amongst your friends.

This would be a simple answer for the month if I was only doing GC as a whole, but I think I want to also ponder why the focus districts are what they are. But first: GC. Galas Castoll was kind of a vibes-pondered name back in 2021-ish(?) meant to loosely mean โ€œGreat Castle.โ€

This was likely not the original name of the first settlements that became it, but one that was born out of it gradually consuming neighboring smaller settlements into a larger, reinforced amalgamation. Because yeah, it kind of became something frighteningly great.

Ashbury Heights: this is the name of one of my favorite music groups and I wanted to make a nod to them because itโ€™s also got that perfect kind of neighborhood/subdivision kind of name. In universe, itโ€™s probably named after Some Guy/Gal/Pal with the surname Ashbury.

Miralleda: in old notes, this section has been referred to as the Mirror District. It has a purpose in MaMoโ€™s time and I wanted to make a nod to PPG Place back where I grew up. But now Iโ€™ve given it a newer name thanks to the aforementioned Coreloceans. Itโ€™s still mirrors. A lot of them.

Galas Agrati: like GC itself, GA is another vibes-y kind of name that I wanted to reflect its importance. The port is what MADE GC a megaNYC on steroids and loosely means โ€œGreat Port Marketplace.โ€ Colloquially, it gets called โ€œthe Agra.โ€

You have made me look up why place names ended up getting "Heights" in them. ๐Ÿ˜‚ So yes! It will be on a higher elevation than its neighboring areas, but it's also because there will be a lot of verticality with the buildings. Lots of people to get packed into apartments!
