tucker carlson is a foppish frozen TV dinner empire heir, a virulent bigot, and a grotesque opportunist/propagandist. it's embarrassing that NPR editors think he needs more attention for his phony-ass pivot away from a nightmare he helped build

sure, he's a soulless propagandist whose movement destroyed America's already shaky public media while sending the country spiraling into the arms of historically corrupt and bigoted extremists, but HIS DOGS WERE WELL BEHAVED

this shit is so frustrating because there's SO MANY interesting and under-platformed artists, academics, scientists, thinkers, doers, and activists out there to spend outlet resources on, yet the press endlessly platforms and amplifies the biggest dipshits imaginable

Carlson is one of the few people on the right who understood that the only path to relevance post-Trump was leaving early, even if it meant being on the outs with his crowd for a while. It's all just a basic, calculated trajectory to being important again in a few years, and folks fall for it.

Turn NPR off. I did in 2017 when Mary Louise Kelley criticized Xavier Becerra for not just doing whatever Trump wanted because he had won the election. The Rule of Law was meaningless. I have never listened again to ANY NPR show. Even "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" which I loved.

They have always been a bit problematic. In '08 I remember having to pull over because I was so angry after they pushed some pro McCain BS. This was after he just threw up his hands and made it clear he had No Idea what to do about the financial crisis.

Old enough to recall NPR's Steve Inskeep regularly -- across years --hosting Jonah Goldberg on Morning Edition, for a weekly political round up... Goldberg: author of "Liberal Fascism," one of the stupidest books ever written, in which he endeavored to prove that liberals are the real Nazis.

Tucker has figured out, like many others, that you can get a lot of free press by becoming anti-Trump. It's all about the $$$. Every one of them deserves a lot of skepticism.

If the MSM wants to know whether Democrats are doing badly, they look to Republicans. And if they want to know whether Republicans are doing badly, they look to Republicans. No criticism is legitimate unless it comes from Republicans.

Exactly. I find myself getting mad and turning off Morning Edition fairly regularly. Especially when they platform the odious Jonah Goldberg, who appears regularly for some reason.

Would be great if the mainstream media would stop Glenn-Becking every reactionary grifter who suddenly pretends to have grown a conscience

"I build a career on lying. I didn't care that those lies helped destroy the country, I got rich and famous. But now that those lies caught up with me, I have to pivot and lie about my former lying."

Totally agree, Tucker doesn’t now and never has believed in anything. He’s always been just a fame whore and is trying desperately to stay relevant. Anyone remember when the Bush administration got him a PBS show lol.

he's just pure ego and opportunism pretending to be an insightful journalist, and it's embarrassing that the press gives him any attention at all

one of my buds called him a "Fame Hobbyist". He's been rich enough to have never worked a day in his life, but the Klieg light addiction got him. He wanted to be somebody, and now he's just a well-paid traitor

at least in Oregon this interview kicked off their latest pledge-drive. not particularly well thought out of them as my radio has been in the time-out corner ever since.

I wish we could let influencers/pundits/commentators who got it all wrong and "change" just fade into the woodwork. Give them thier "oops" and then turn away. I feel the same way about the ex-tradwives. Learn your life lesson and then just...go live your life, without attention. Like everyone else.

NPR gave a platform to Steve...Freakin'...Bannon! That was the day I stopped donating to them! Everything that's happened was something Steve Bannon has been calling for since he took over Breitbart News and became CEO of Trump's 2016 presidential campaign.
