as an aside I think this thing about CNN's founding vision being something called "randemonium" is some sort of ChatGPT hallucination. This doesn't show up anywhere else in search, which, if so, says great things about this new news org and @a16z

I also like this part where they pretend the eggheaded billionaire (who just openly admitted he doesn't think introspection exists) gets to pretend that "making sense of things" is some original innovation they just stumbled into?

Reese Schonfeld's book about starting CNN is a fun read

I remember the pitch looking a lot more like what CNN Headline News was at first. Just a looping 30 minutes updated as needed.
