Everyone is trashing him but A) If the conceit of the game is that you have to beat someone in something they’re an expert in then of course it’ll be something they’re an expert in. B) He did pretty well. It wasn’t like he just got completely exposed on WNBA players.

I think the context makes this clip even funnier —the woman is Carolyn Swords, who was in the WNBA from 2011-2020 —the show premise is "pick a topic where you're an expert," she chose "basketball players" —Rob Lowe REPEATEDLY points out to the guy that she was in the WNBA —HE CHALLENGES HER ANYWAY
